Retro colnago
I am looking now to purchase my first Italian classic and not sure on this add. Can anyone help me out with what Colnago this is?
Alos i will be looking at a Gios Torino Super Record. The color on the bike looks in mint condition there is no comp parts, no gios forks. I have added the link of the bike. ? RETRO COLNAGO - Fietsen | Racefietsen - Marktplaats.nl http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/fietsen-...reviousPage=lr |
Personally, I don't think it's a Colnago. There are not too many photo's of the actual frame but, from what I see, it doesn't look like the real McCoy. The gap between the rear wheel and seat tube looks too big. The fork crown looks wrong. What's happening with the rear dropouts? The stay plugs look too long as well. I can't see the two brake cable guides on the top tube. I wish the photo was clearer. I'd give it a miss - but I might be very wrong. Nice components though.

Thanks mate, I have asked the seller to take some more pics. Some close ups of the bottom bracket and rear dropouts. Also i thought it would be a ok just for the parts. mmmmmmm not sure now.

I think you're very wise asking for more photos. |
I do agree, not a Colnago. There is a decision in the images to avoid the Colnago details, the fork crown is wrong, the seat stay tops are wrong. The components might be the value in the deal, but the condition on some appears rough. I suggest to keep looking.
A frame without a fork always brings the issue of what happened to the fork? Things have to be inspected and measured very carefully then. Replacement forks can be found, but probably not matching and can cost, factoring in that cost often often yields a below average overall value. |
I have just responded for this Colnago. offered 300 and waiting for the reply. What

Both are real Colnago's. Either one would be a good to buy but the blue frame would be more retro and have been built in the early 80's. It would look nice with either a Campagnolo Nuovo Record group set of a Campagnolo Super Record groupset. Either group set was available in the early 80's. This would be the more expensive option - the first bike would be the much cheaper option.
