Original (?) stock Fuji seat, all compressed down and flat as a dime. Can we say "Ouch"?

That other saddle is suppose to be "flat as a dime". More cushion is rarely a better thing.

I know... Believe me. But all I was getting at was that the original stock Fuji seat was hard as a brick! I love the bike and snatched it up quickly, but I couldn't get used to the seat. My butt was aching after only 5 or 6 miles. I like the Forte Softtail road/touring seat. It's not exactly flat as a dime and/or geared towards a Tour de France racing seat. It's comfortable and suits my needs, ...for now.

Some great bikes in this thread. All mine are steel, too. The bike in the pic is in another thread I started but I thought I'd post it here too - it's an '86 Nishiki Colorado I picked up recently for $20. it came to me without wheels, brakes, and front derailleur, but otherwise it's in great shape and rides really nice. I'm restoring it with parts from the same era and should have it completed by next weekend I'm hoping.

I like new bikes too, but prefer the very clean lines of the pre-suspension models - the earlier the better. I ride both trails and streets, but no super crazy down mountainside stuff, so suspension is not needed. I also have a pretty sweet '97 Rock Hopper I've highly modified, it's very quick and very light despite not being made of carbon fiber or aluminum.

Personally I dont think of older bikes being not as good as newer ones, just as being different. Different feel and handling, but just as rideable.

Next I'm looking to get a nice vintage road bike.

My 1975 Condor Superbe which I've recently discovered has a 65mm bracket shell instead of a 68mm which resulted in the small ring
was rubbing the chainstay to 1.5 mm spacers set everything right

My 72' Raleigh Super Course (Freshly painted Metallic Blue and like a 74-75 Mk II). Just put hoods on the brake levers today.

My 88' Bridgestone RB3. Upgraded with Shimano 600 EX components. Still have to install the headset.
