Any idea on this one folks? It's marked BREVETTI INTERNAZ CAMPAGNOLO. I think it's a bit newer than the last one, which was, BTW, a PITA as was mentioned. It's embarrasing how long it took install the seat.

This one is also much lighter than the Nouvo Record. Thanks.

Campy used to make off-set tools for their seatposts. It might be possible to find a similar tool in an auto repair store or hardware store. I haven't look myself . My use Alien takes a bit of time to adjust too.

It's hard to tell from the photos- it could be C-Record, Chorus, Athena, or other from 80's - early 90's?

They all kind of looked the same in that period.

Maybe someone else can be more specific.

Thanks for the input. It's really strange at the LBS, vintage Campy is the least expensive stuff that they have. Man, I love that place!

It looks like my late 80's post.

1. It's not a C-Record seatpost.
2. It's either Croce d'Aune, Chorus or Athena.
3. As far as I know, these three are the same.

Hope this helps.

25 years ago, when the Nuovo Record seatpost was on my bike, I, like everyone else had this 'tool' problem. Solution: I bought the cheapest apropriate spanner on the market, bend it in a vice, adn voila, there was my 'offset' spanner! I still have it, though I don't use this type of post anymore.

Or Victory, which also used the same one.
C-Record looks similar (aero), except used the Nuovo Super Record (later one bolt) style top, and weighed less than the above post.

It looks almost EXACTLY like my Chorus post.

luker 03-31-05 11:33 PM

It is most likely a Chorus, after '87. I bought a post from a LBS in '87 that was supposed to be C-Record, but was exactly like this. The C-Record had a single exposed bolt like the later super record posts did. I still have my Chorus, and still feel a little screwed almost 20 years after the fact...but it is with a complete Chorus grouppo so I don't resent it quite as much.

I'm pretty sure one of my posts is exactly like that one. Mine is a mid to late 80's C-Record. I bought it as part of a grouppo. Too late to check it tonight, too lazy to walk to the garage. Maybe tomorrow.

Didn't Campy get into the habit of introducing a new Record group, and producing the last years Record stuff as Chorus the following year???? Same stuff different boxes?

Edit: I checked, single bolt through from the post side to the saddle.
