198? Traveler. Salvageable Brooks?

Saved this traveler from the dump. Trying to figure out the year, I feel like it's mid 80's, but the online catalogs were no help. Drivetrain was all Suntour AR, with a Suntour perfect freewheel. A Brooks saddles was attached, you can see the condition in the pics. Is it restore-able? If so how? Thanks for any and all help.

Yeah, you could try riding it, but it will most likely break sooner than later. If you want a high quality replacement for that old cracked leather contact BF member rhm, he recovers Brooks and other leather saddle frames with fresh leather. It's not dirt cheap, but it's good stuff. I've tried two of his saddles, a really soft B17 re-do and a nice stiff one with really thick leather.

You have a 1983 Traveler. Note the charcoal/silver alternate paint.

+1 this.

But you could conceivably have the leather replaced.

+1 on RHM. Rudi is a great guy to deal with and his saddles are nice! I have one on my commuter and intend on getting another...
