What is so special about these?

Cinelli Pista 67 39 Bars and 2A Track Stem 100mm | eBay

ok so, the steel ones with the badge and steel bars are worth a pretty penny, then there's the other steel version that's worth some change as well. But why did these sell at $450??

maybe $200 would be normal, but $450 is a little astronomical.

surprising. The luck of eBay in this case for the seller. Sold to a best offer too.

The set up does look very clean. Darn near as perfect as one could hope for save the Cinelli plastic sleeve and bag.

M-13, about 10 years ago, Eugene (RIP) at Urbane Cyclist sold me 7 pair of those bars at $5 each. I traded them for parts and don't have a pair left. Doh!

Please note that these bars did not sell for $450. That was simply the asking price. I would expect that some smart marketing is at issue here. By putting a high price everybody speaks about the auction and they get many added hits. Somebody recognizes that it is precisely what they want and contacts the seller about buying them off ebay. The seller ends up getting market price for the bars, but avoids paying ebay fees...
