Glad your accident with the chain wasn't too bad....
The 3V Volumetrica had alwyas been one of my grail bikes since I saw it the first time in the 80's.....the frameset looks to be a 56cm, my size!.........so my envy meter is pegged!

Moved from that category of "those that will crash" to the category of "those that have!" Thanks for the concern Bianchigirll

A Lovely Masi, congrats! Glad to read you didn't go down due to the chain. What a shame that would have been!

Nice pick-up!!!!!!!! Glad you're OK.

That stem looks like it's about to snap - you should probably replace it.

Yeah...the stem is quite ugly as well...but...wow...chain snap...
WNG ... did go down...ouch! But...saved the paint job on the Masi!

That was the funny thing about my crash...knee, elbow, head...and first thing I looked at was the paint job on the Masi! Got my priorities in order!

What's with Masis and chains? A year or so ago I had half a quick link disappear from mine when I was 30 miles from home. At least I didn't fall.

Glad you're okay. And the bike too!

Glad you and the Masi are okay. Reminda mw of a really old joke or comic cartoon. Guy crashes at speed on his bike and is sliding down the asphalt whilst holding his bike in the air. Guy says to him, "Let the bike go!" The guy yells back, "NEVER! Flesh heals but Campagnolo doesn't!"

Cheers from Miele Man

Miele Man...my thoughts were exactly on that line! Except I was thinking "paint costs money to replace, skin don't!"

I have a Campy group that is just waiting to be put on her...although I have to admit, other than the chain, that 600 Tri Color was doing great!

Beautiful bike! The chain looks fine in the pics. Any idea why the chain snapped? It sounds scary. Glad you're ok.

I thought the chain was good as well...no idea why it snapped...probably just old and/or stretched...will pay more attention there in the future!
