Don't get your hopes up. It's pretty rare you come up with one that matches exactly in terms of manufacture.

i would just pick up a sugino 170mm left arm on ebay for $20 delivered. or ask in the "iso" thread.

better yet, i would go down to my lbs/co-op and spend $20 on a used but better looking crankset (with dust caps).

Of course the best solution is to replace the crank arm.
But I wonder if it couldn't be saved. If you filed the flats flat again, and then bevelled the inner edges so the arm wouldn't bottom against the spindle, the fit could be OK again. The arm will go a bit further in, so probably you'd need a thin flange washer under the nut. I've never tried it, but if you know how to use a file, it might work.

...it's a press fit, and the angles are pretty precise. I'm good with a file, and I could not do what you suggest.

As stated previously, I'm sure bedding compound would work once, if you were willing to cut the thing off with a grinder
next time you wanted to service the bearings, or in the case of the non drive arm, leave it attached to the spindle and
remove the adjustable cup to service. Seems like a lot of work for a not so special crank set.

I don't know what help I can be, but the model of your crank is the Silstar. Sungino made them for probably 15 years and the aesthetics changed during that time. The crank I I linked to at Velobase.com VeloBase.com - Component: Sugino No. 5 / Silstar was one of the 70's older styles. The newer 80's style looks more like yours and and they showed up on the 80-83 Schwinn Travelers http://bikecatalogs.org/SCHWINN/1983...1983Ltwt10.JPG ;they didn't have the Sugino name on the arm, but that might have been at request of Schwinn.

...I checked today, and we have no 170 mm cranks at all, single arms or sets. Sorry.

I've gone ahead to try & find a crank arm to match the crank I have for my No 5 FE-WB. It doesn't have to say "Sugino" on it, but it would look nicer if i can find one that does.

Have made one discovery - from the Sugino Catalog I have, it looks as if they used the same arm on BOTH the No. 6 FE-RB & No. 66 FE-TR. If this information is correct, I could be one step closer to broadening my search.

Could someone please verify if this information is correct as the catalog I have only shows the right side & not the left???

It's JIS.

The number of styles of ISO-taper Sugino cranks was quite small, limited to Mighty arms and Sugino75 models.

Your bb spindle is nutted as well, and I've not seen an ISO bb with nutted spindle.
