Traded a Centurion for a Centurion
Took the opportunity to trade my '87 Sport DLX for this:
'84 Elite GT. Rack, handlebar bag and panniers included. http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps1cae6bd7.jpg http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...psec4f6028.jpg http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps52381f21.jpg http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps572580cb.jpg Original Mountech RD has been replaced. What a surprise. http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...psc3ac5073.jpg It's currently stripped down to a bare frame, undergoing a total cleanup and overhaul. The paints not great, but that's fine by me. I won't mind gravel rides on it this way. The FD/RD will be swapped for a set of Suntour A3000's, and Suntour bar end shifters will go onto a set of rando bars. The riser stem off my current commuter will be used also. Bar re-wrap, yada yada yada..... |
Any fit issues aside, I think you made an excellent trade, one of the best all-around bikes of the era.

Thanks Robbie. The Sport was a few cm's to small. It did get me back into cycling after the diabetes diagnosis, so it was kinda hard letting it go. No one else in our house was ever going to ride it, and I came across this and figured it was time. This is a 23" frame, and fits nicely. I will be retiring "Clyde" the commuter ('87 Lemans RS) now, as there really is no room for bigger tires for gravel rides, and I really am trying to keep the number of bikes down.
