In the 2000's there was a group of folks in the Atlanta area who would get together and ride their vintage bikes. It was kind of a little c&v social club. Who has something like that going where they live?

We've held a few C&V-oriented rides in the northeast: Boston area, central New Hampshire, Portsmouth, NH, a semi-annual ride on Cape Cod. No formal organization though. All it takes is someone posting a proposal, scouting out a route, bumping people occasionally, then everyone showing up.

Good question. A couple of us will specify "steel" in the text messages once in a while, and arrive equipped as such.
By doing so, we've kind of sparked an interest in steel by the carbon guys, who consider it a nice alternative ride.
We long ago stopped trying to convince anyone that the speed is the same; if the Garmin results can't convince them, why bother...
There is an equal sized group going for TT/Tri bikes as "second bikes," and they like to ride together, tuck position, in pace lines.
They're a good source for used parts after the wrecks.

In my area, there's a yearly "tweed ride" which is a lot of fun. It's not exclusively tweed and C&V steel, but is largely so.
Folks in my regular riding club dig my steel bikes. I can just keep up with the faster members so either vintage steel isn't that much of a penalty, or my group is slower than average.

The Rose Bowl Ride in Pasadena (Velo-Retro: Rose Bowl Ride) has been happening the first Sunday of the month for many years, "whether anyone shows up or not."
I’ve been up a couple times, its a relaxed ride, lots of nice old bikes.

We just had a C & V ride last Saturday organized by jly. It was a nice, social 12 mile route which began & ended at Velo Cult bike shop. We had fun. It was a first time and not sure if we'll do another.

But you have to glue them all back together, no?

We had a nice-enough Seattle area group ride in June. Lots of drop-dead gorgeous bikes, ridden by drop-dead gor... er, make that reasonably presentable riders.
And yes, we forgot to tell eschlwc it was "cancelled."

I'm a member of the New England section of the Veteran-Cycle Club. We're the only non-UK section and do organized rides once per month from September to June.

Back around 2000 there was a group of folks who got together about once a month around Atlanta. Cool old bikes and some wool jerseys and such. I would love to find some local folks to do some stress free vintage rides.

I organize one every year.
I post, "Meet me in the parking lot'.
People meet me in the parking lot.
We ride.
It ain't rocket science.

We have a pub crawl that while not C&V per se, many of the bikes are.
