There is currently to Torpado with Campy stuff on the Hartford CT Craigslist. In my size, too! If only I could sneak that in without my wife noticing!

Edit: The WAK prefix was assigned to bicycles imported by Age Kroll.

To my knowledge Thord imported his bikes himself, at least in the beginning, but later perhaps it might have gone thru an agent and maybe that could have been a Danish company and Age Kroll. I have collected some pictures of Champion/Torpado: s and at least one more have what looks like a WAK number (but on the other side of the frame). My other Champion(/Legnano), that is much earlier, does not have anything like it number-wise. As I said - very interesting and I will check with Thords son if he knows something about this.

Interesting. I googled a bit but did not find anything on Age Kroll. Could you point me in a direction for more info?

We have a near twins! You can look at the photos of mine above. What are the hubs? (I know the QR is Campag, but on my Father's Frejus the QR was Campag, but the hubs are Akront.) Are they three-piece with a steel barrel?
Mine no longer has the Torpado headset, it was badly brinelled. It now has a Stonglight headset.

I'm very grad to know that we have a near twins!
I wonder why this rare Torpado has been inported to Japan and how many thisi type of Torpado still survived in the world?
The hubs are Campa by the way.

This is how my latest Torpado build started...

and this is where the build is at now, except that the bicycle has been stripped of components for painting and the paint will be a nice powder blue. Just have to wait until Black Fly season passes...

I might even start the painting today if impatience strikes. First paint the head tube and lug windows white. The Harbor Blue for the rest of the bicycle, leaving heat tube lugs, fork and stays socks chromed. Might even do a little pin striping, if my eyes get better and my hands stop shaking (good luck with both of those).

Well, i ride it (the last picture with the number was taken after a 222km ride through Lower Austria and the Cech republic) and i love it, ist a wonderful bike. But the colour (matt black) is untypical for the 80ies, i wanted to know if somone has heard something about "black" torpados?

Old guy on a Bike
Just took Lola out for a nice 25 mile spin here on a glorious S Tx winter's day. Big chain ring, slammed down into smallest rear gear. This old girl can still fly.
