1960's Rabenieck ladies bike

Hi All, I have attached a few photos of my mothers 1960's Rabenieck 24" ladies bike. Rescued it from the rafters of my grandmothers garage. Has any one ever seen this bicycle? It is German made, all steel, has original seat, bell, book rack, light and fender skirts. Not many made it across the pond, so I am having trouble finding much info on it. It, of coarse, has sentimental value, but was curious to vintage value and if I should restore it. What say you? Thanks KJ

Nice bike. Search for "Rabeneick", you'll find more.

non-fixie, thanks for the reply. I have hit the sites I found while googling. No real help there. They are a very sharp bike new, but can't seem to find a page specific to vintage. I'll keep looking...

What exactly are you looking for? Rabeneick is a fairly well-known German brand. They made some very nice lightweight bikes. This one from 1961 was posted earlier on BF by martl:

Your bike is typical for German ladies' bikes sold from the forties through sixties by many brands. You'll see quite a few here. Apparently it is still a popular model. Rabeneick is even producing a modern version.

Thanks again non-fixie. I am attempting to figure out if this may be a collectors bike, a vintage value and an opinion on whether or not to attempt to restore this peddlejet. I made an attempt to contact someone at Rabenieck.de. Some very cool bikes on that site.

Seems they have some value: Rabeneick Bj.ca. 1950 - neue & gebrauchte Fahrräder - Hamburg

You're most welcome. Post some 'after' pics when you're done. They'd be a nice addition to the BF knowledge base. TIA.
