My "new" Trek Elance 300

Picked this up at a Flea Market yesterday for $60!Except for the paint its in great shape. All original everything including maybe the tires. The tires are "Trek Iso tech 3k"they're old and brittle.Do you think they're original?Year is 1986 and its Ishiwata triple butted 4130 steel tubing.Rides great!

Great find! I have a slightly newer 330, Tange instead of Ishiwata, but I paid much more. Good eye!

Great score!

Are those the Shimano ratcheting shifters? There are many people that think they're among the best friction shifters. I think they're nice.

As far as the tires, I got a 1985 Trek with some Trek ISO tires. I can't seem to find the pix of the tires. So those actually may be stock...

Those tires look like they'd be nice to ride on. You can see the fabric in the sidewalls, and the tread looks smooth and thin. Since Avocet is no more, you probably have to go with Grand Bois for tires constructed like that...

Yes they are and the front gears are the best I've ever experienced in my admittedly limited experience.About the tires,Would someone have bought new Trek tires after the originals wore out in those days?

You might guess by my handle that I too had a Trek 330 that i loved! The frame was 4130 true temper which was great stuff!

Cool, I just bought one exactly like yours except it has a Selle Italia saddle and new Continental tires. I am pretty anxious to get it sorted and on the road.
