I think a fine tribute would be to post your example of Pinarello's best, past or present, yours, or one you found on the web. Here's one that caught my eye:

I hope that one of the UCI Pro teams riding Pinnies will have a commemorative decal or colourway for him, it would be fitting to recognize his contributions. Any teams othe than Sky riding them this season, or next, Pro Continental included?

Well, I guess I'll raise a glass to Giovanni on the 7th, also my B-Day. Never had the pleasure or honor to own one of those great bikes.
I can remember lusting after them in the shops in the 70's but just couldn't swing a nice Italian bike back then. The look of the Pinarellos was always among my favorites. Another of the great masters gone.
