The bike in the foreground is a JC Higgins. See the continuous line on the lower fender stays and the chainguard?

I liked the bathing beauties playing bike polo on the beach. I wonder if my hipster bike polo buddies know they're merely continuing a tradition started by their great-great-grandmothers back in the roaring 20's?

The image shows up frequently in Google image searches for Fausto Coppi, particularly on Wordpress websites. One problem is that Wordpress strips out all the metadata in the jpg images so it's difficult to determine the source of this image.
