Wow! that polished up really really nicely! Beautiful early Alan!
I didn't know that Alan made bikes for other marques even in their earliest days. Do you have any information for us on Ciclo Gamba of Bergamo?

So is Modolo the brand? I don't know them at all. One of my recent aquisitions has Modolo Corsa brakes which look similar.

"Corsa’s looking very agricultural compared to the pro models. Rough untreated forged light alloy calipers, no hand polishing here"

Pretty accurate description! Thank you Mr F!

Modolos were pretty sweet brakes but they tended to have crummy pads; I'd swap the pads out. Really, really pretty brakes though. I have a pair of the brake levers on one of my old racing bikes; you can use the black dia compe hoods if you don't mind that it's not period correct. They work well though. By the way, I have to ask, qui il l'homme de la pampa? On parle francias.

If they haven't cracked yet after all the years of use, I doubt if they will crack on Fernand...

The components are assembled, lacks a rim Mavic Module E, brake duct collars Campagnolo (3) and brake hoods Modolo.
The hubs are Mavic 500
Reassembly is done early January.

I sent emails and faxes for buy the brake hoods Modolo to this address and I do not answer.
Do you have buy the components at this company?

Looking lovely. I like your component mix especially the Modolo pro's. I'd be looking for the Modolo gum hoods (if at all possible) to go with the colour scheme.

Agreed. You can find them on Ebay for reasonable prices - here's a link to a set that's translucent bronze. Might match the ano pretty closely.

Modolo 919 Anatomic Brake Hoods RARE Translucent Bronze Fit Campagnolo | eBay

What is the datecode on your RD? Looks to be a first-generation Super Record (in post #18 ) vice the later version shown in the first set of photos.

Looking good - I've never seen the lugs shine up so well on one of those Alans!

That has cleaned up lovely, just be careful pressing in the headset cups to the head tube as a lot of these frames have been scrapped due to too much force used when fitting the headset and cracking the alloy

I saw the hoods on eb, I would like the black, but I'm not Bill Gates, I'm not going to put $ 120 in plastic.
Why not translucent.

The Super Record derailleur is 1976 is a first generation.

What is the RD?

I have cleaning the aluminum with Belgom Alu
