Fascinating Auchen, thanks for posting! Moving to 2014, there's constant fast motorised traffic cutting through English country lanes - I'd take the 1931 London traffic any day...........

Gee, I wasn't trying to steal your thunder! (the link just wasn't working).

But thanks for posting it.

Pretty neat! There are quite a few other clips on early cycling that also pop up. A picture, or "video clip" in this case, is worth a thousand words. Thanks!

No problem, thanks for adding the improved link.

I would love to have one of those bikes.
I think that bicycles were here before automobiles and that roads were not originally built just for autos.

Bianchigirll 09-29-14 06:35 AM

This is funnier. Anyone know where I can get one of those bumbershoot holders?

The Amish would disagree with you. Horse and Oxen buggies were first andf the roads were just improved and smoothed paths

Yes indeed horses and beasts of burden were here 1st, but the bicycle was on the road before cars were invented.
It was bicycle mechanics (Henry Ford, Wright Bros.) who invented cars and airplanes using advanced bicycle technology. Neither could exist without pneumatic tires, precision bearings, tension-spoked wheels, chain-drive, rolled steel, and other technology invented for bicycles.

I think of this when I am sometimes yelled at to get off the road...lol
