BTW, 127lbs and riding that large a frame size? You must look like a telephone pole waiting for lines to be attached.

Three water bottles will get you far. A feature I would want on my next custom as well.

Don't forget a chainstay protector of some sort. You'd hate to get it all nicked up from slap.

Thanks and good call on the chain stay protector. I've been trying to decide on what to use. I was thinking leather. Any ideas? Would you believe I was actually debating whether to have the third set installed. Already glad I did and haven't even used it.

I have that 3rd water bottle cage on three bikes.

Two of these bikes were used on 300+ mile rides this summer and thank goodness I had them.

Running out of water on a gravel road in northern Minnesota would have been poor form.

Sometimes it was 20-25 miles between towns.

That would definitely stink. I had it on my Schwinn voyageur which makes me question why there was ever a question on this one.

Anyone have any cloth tape color suggestions?

Newbaums yellow cloth tape, 3 coats of amber shellac. Should match the Brooks saddle well.

So me being tactless, comes from living in Cambodia where fat is fat and ugly is not beautiful, They tell it like it is.

Yep, that's generally my brooks matching combo too. I have some brooks tape I got cheap that I'd probably use if I went with saddle matching. I had thought about shellacked grey cloth as well.

It's all good, everyone has different tastes. It exits near the dropout to connect to the dynamo. The first photo from the same post shows it albeit out of focus.

That is really slick. The color reminds me of the late 50's early 60's VW bugs/busses. I appreciate your attention to details regarding the careful wiring routing, clean. I'd go w/ leather barwrap over cloth (I find leather more comfy) BUT, it's your bike, just my 0.02

NO, my question is after coming up out of the fork from the hub, it looks like it enters the bead around the fender then where? Can you show how it ends up in the coiled black part just above the front fender here

Ohh, okay. I'll give the entire run down just to be clear. It comes from the hub, up the blade, into the fenders rolled edge, then to the headlight (not yet installed). The coiled wire starts at headlight, into fenders rolled edge, through rubber grommet near fork crown, coils in black, enters down tube, goes down the down tube, up the seat tube and out the threaded boss on seat tube, to taillight (also not yet installed).

Great eye and question with the black coil. I used a piece of shrink wrap tubing for added protection where it enters the DT. I also didn't want the exposed wire to be the clear colored wire so I used a long enough piece so it would appear black. Plus the shrink wrap allows the wire to retain the coil easier (I heated and shrank the wrap while coiled).

Great build. I think lug lining would be pretty swell.

I've lined a fair amount of lugs in the past but I don't believe I'm going to do it to this one. I tend to prefer it on ornate lugs such as hetchins or even nerves pro.
