(another) 1984 Repco Nishiki Cresta find - flat bar content

Howdy!

Just like this thread http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...shop-find.html I've picked up a Nishiki Cresta branded Repco for the Aussie market at a reclaimed rubbish kind of store. Its in really great condition and I've had a nice time the past week servicing the hubs and BB and giving it a bit of a tidy up.
After looking around online tonight and finding the above thread I see that a flat bar version of the bike was not a production version, but mine looks as though it was converted very close to or at the time of purchase. It looks 100% original (according to the catalogue scan) except the shifters, bar and brake levers. The suntour thumbies work nicely, and the dia compe 284 levers are superb. I think the original tyres are still on with not much wear. The brakes feel super crisp without lubing the cables. The freewheel still has plenty of life left and the Izumi chain is still to the good of the "sort of worn" edge of my rohloff checker. I really wish I knew who (in Canberra) ordered and converted the bike, its such a beaut.
Have got some 32mm or so tyres coming for it, some MKS sylvan touring peds and might grab a rack top bag... its going to be a "guests bike".
Anyway, I guess I was wondering if anyone else has seen a flat bar Cresta version like this, or do people agree that it is a one off conversion? Serial is AD01257
