@Roger M - great mixte! I've been looking for a Bridgestone, and I'm just down I-5 from you (Portland). If you ever decide to sell, please pm me. I'd go on a road trip.

Something About Mixte

Posted this in the original "show" thread, but thought might as well post here too.

What is it about mixtes that makes them such a fun ride?

Put together this Peugeot mixte for my daughter.

My wife rode one like it before she was born and we did a long tour down the Canadian and US west coast.
Switched out the bottom bracket and crankset after destroying the cottered crank--have since learned how to remove them properly.

Also traded the plastic Simplex derailleurs for a Suntour set.

Restored Peugeot with upgraded crankset and derailleurs

I have a couple of mixte projects that have been hanging in the garage for a few years. I bought this Bridgestone 200 for $25 about four years ago. It was meant to be a build for my daughter and I to tackle. Here it is as purchased.

It's been in this form for a long time now..

This bike was given to me by a local metal recycler. It's a big frame, maybe 58cm?

I guess this one was eleven years in the making...

Finally finished this Bridgestone 200 for my daughter this year. I'm happy to report that she loves her bike, and commuted 450-500 miles over the summer on it.

Not mine. This Motobecane mixte looks like a 22"-23" frame and is fully Euro equipped. Someone should grab it. $180 in NC.

My 1980ish Shogun mixte. Both the seatpost and stem are stuck though.
