Somehow I've ended up with three green bikes out of my five. Ironically, I rode my orange and jersey bike on St. Patrick's Day, although the Irish flag does have orange in it. My green bikes include a Soma Saga, Waterford RST-22 and De Bernardi SL.

Specialized Expedition, Fuji SSR, and how the Motobecane will look after some green beer.

I gotta take some new pictures. I have at least three green bikes. I've lost track.

rhm 03-17-15 09:20 AM

For St. Patrick's Day, shouldn't we have a "show us your Irish bikes" thread?

But on the subject of green....

Somewhat little known fact. In Ireland, Catholics wear green and Protestants wear orange on St. Paddy's. So your still legal!

Thanks rhm ! I'm actually working on 4 late 70's early 80's bikes...2 Raleigh's & 2 Fuji's. I've been able to get the nut off with my regular sockets. The crank is still on and I have a bolt staring at me.

Do I still need that 1st tool to get the crank off, and then on to the 2nd tool ? Do you know if that Park HCW 4 wrench (and the 1st tool) will work on all 4 ? I'm a total newb at this

Yeah, you need both, or their equivalents. The outer part of that first tool screws into the big thread in the crank, then you tighten up the inner part and it pops the crank arm off the spindle. There are many crank pullers on the market; the standard thread is 22 mm. Not to be confused with 23.35 mm "stronglight" or 23 mm "TA" pullers, which fit specific cranks that you don't find on a Fuji. Any "standard" crank puller will work for you. But no ordinary household tool will do the job. Then you apply the Park tool. The caveman alternative, a hammer and punch, will do the job less neatly.

But really, you should spend some time on these websites:

good question. I have no idea, but that works for me. I was in Galway 2 years ago and half the crowd was wearing orange and that is how I found out.

Roger,

Always enjoy photos of your bikes. Those Stan Johnsons are lookers for sure.

So hard to research about some of these regional builders, yet so interesting to me.
