This has been my preference lately on days when it isn't raining. '86 Legend. Yes, the photo is intentionally "urban", and yes, that's a kickstand! Ridicule me at will...

One or two things left to add/do... generator taillight, etc...

My dads Pinarello Treviso that I inherited and restored together with him hanging out at the freight elevator in my office building. Bad non driveside photo but it gets the point across I hope.

^^^^^ Wow, all those tiny little bikes with a 2-inch standover height....

Where I park my commuter while I'm working, it would be very dark, and way too close-up, for a photo. Whatever I ride, it spends the day inside a bike locker I rent. Closest photo I have: Univega Via Carisma I don't ride very often anymore, rigged for winter with Nokian studded Hock-up-a-loogies.

Lately I've been on an early-'90s Trek 720, or a Trek 950 of roughly the same era. I keep forgetting to get a pic of them outside the locker.

Almost forgot, I have a shot of my "daily driver" just outside the locker I rent. Mid '90s Trek 720, $40 project bike from the local bike co-op. Swapped tires, brakes, shifters, handlebar, stem, seatpost/saddle with basement "inventory", another $10 in the rack. Oh, I think I paid $1 for the bell at St. Vinny's.

This week I'm on a Trek 950 Singletrack from 1995-ish? Seller had just bought new tires (knobbies) for it, when the shifters "broke". He listed it on CL in Bike _Parts_, asking either $40 for the tires, or $75 or the whole thing. I didn't need the tires, so I got the rest of the bike for $35. Shot some WD40 into the shifters, and they're golden. Street tires NOS are from Dream Bikes. So $55 total outlay.

So lately it's been "construction season", so EVERY possible route to work involves at least one street or intersection that's "tore up". Typical scene:

So, time for some knobbies. '93 GT Talera, $20 plus a little TLC, and a $3 saddle from the thrift store. Rides like a dream over the local moonscapes.

So not really a commuter, used as such the week after Velo Cirque just to get a good feel for it and it was good.

Yep, more huge pics, 1958 Paramount

Is that an old Rolleicord? And what are all those old 35s stacked haphazardly on one another?

This is one of my favourite threads on here. Love seeing good work bikes. I'm hoping to ata to it shortly once I sort some lights out and a route that doesn't involve a motorway.

Haphazard stacks = my life. Sigh.

Yes, it's an old Rolleicord, currently non-functional; I am trying to decide whether to send it out for repair. Same with the 35s. I teach in a large high school photography program that still has an active film/darkroom component.
