Matching Kit W/ Bike? Vintage Kit?

When riding your C&V bike, do you tend to wear period-relevant kit? Bike-matched kit? Do you go further and actually wear vintage meaning thirty or forty year old jerseys and etc, or do you prefer repro?

Examples? Pics are welcomed.

The past 10 months I've been on a weight loss journey and have shed over 80lbs. This allowed me to finally fit into the wool Brooks jersey my nephew gave me a few years ago. I found wool bike shorts on ebay to match and wore them in a hill climb race I did the end of September. I rode my '71 Paramount. So while the clothes aren't vintage, they are in the vintage style.

Since mid September I've been wearing wool for almost every ride.

I have some older wool jersey's from the 80's that my dad gave me and usually pull them out in the winter. Normally it's just whatever lycra shorts and bright colored jersey in the drawer I have. I did wear my Spectrum jersey while riding the Spectrum this past weekend and have a repro and original Gitane jersey that I occasionally wear. Would love a Lemond Team Z repro jersey at some point

I often will wear a more plain modern jersey when riding C&V. It just seems right.

I need to take a cue from from PastorBob and drop about 15 lbs so I can more comforably wear this jersey again.

I own this jersey but this pic stolen from web.

I typically wear a pair of cycling shorts (either lycra bibs or MTB type shorts with inserts) and a shirt/jersey/tshirt of my choosing...I have tons of cycling jerseys (more than I need!)...some are old wool, some are new wool, some are old lycra, some are new lycra...but...recently...I have been wearing more tshirts than anything...

C&V with handlebar bag means I do not need the pockets of a jersey...and I am just more comfortable in a loose fitting tshirt!

"Matching kit w/ bike..."

I got a hard lesson in taking any breaks from perusing auction sites several months back - I missed out on getting a team jersey to match one of my bikes simply because I wasn't looking. Same team as my frame set, though different rider, same year, should'a fit me, good condition, sold for something like $50. Even if it didn't fit it would have been great to frame and hang above the bike. Oh well.

...does anyone have a Boule d'Or jersey from '83...?

Pastorbob, you look great. Great weight loss achievement!

The reason I ask is, I just bought a vintage one of these

And would wear it with

but worry that the combination will look just too precious.

30+ year old Protogs wool tights and wool jersey. Italian made Vittoria shoes with slotted cleats. Macrame back gloves.

The only vintage team jersey I own is this old Team YO Eddy that I sometimes wear when I ride my Yo Eddy.
I feel feel pretty silly wearing it mostly because my MTB skills are terrible

My Cino jerseys get a lot of play time regardless of what bike I'm on. Especally the ones with front pockets. Man those jerseys are useful!

Knickers and wool, of course, when riding a C&V bike (in this case, my '49 Raleigh Clubman):

My Almanzo 2014 pairing. Wool jersey a few years older than frame, but as close as I can currently get.
