Frame issue

I hope this the correct forum. I have a 1950's Shelby Traveler that has the "ears" of the seat post binder broken off. With any welding being out of the question, do I have any alternative other than using a quill type seat post? Any help would be appreciated. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=412991

Being that it looks like from the pic, that you don't have a clear/smooth tube section within the top split of the seat tube to possibly use a separate band clamp as used on modern bikes, you most likely only have the quill seatpost solution as the easiest one to go to, other than having a new seat lug/seatpost clamp brazed on to the frame.

Thanks. I was hoping someone would have a creative way around it. I am not a fan of the quill seat post.
