noglider lol...I was expecting to hear that you used Dapper Dan. Like I said...you can pull off that mustache because you are gifted, and clubman wax helps!

I had a professor in college who biked and had HUGE nose hairs so long that it formed a hitlerish stache look. The professor would lecture us on how our nasal hairs were the bodies first defense to 'catch and filter those harmful bacteria' from entering your body. To most of the class....they just looked hideous on her.
Cobrabrytee Since 2012! Nice! I used to cut my hair once a year back in college. My hair was long, curly, and crazy. Those were the days! Then i hit 28 and it all fell out. The End.

I had a bushier beard last year but it got in the way of my stethoscope so I trimmed it. Damn job

pamaguahiker, I guess I'm fastidious in my grooming. Nose hairs are gross. As a naturally hairy guy, I have a lot of work to do in order to keep my nose and ears hair-free. I also cut my own hair on my head. I've been doing that for years.

Beard, and trust me, I'm on a bike. A selfie at L'Eroica with my friend photobombing me.

I recognized those locations right away. Nice to see someone else from the WB area. I sometimes ride the Levee starting in Plymouth, across the river to Hanover Twp, through WB, across to Kirby Park, and sometimes continue from Forty Fort to Wyoming... That is my local ride, and parts of which I will ride if I ever commute to work in WB.

But I love to drive up to White Haven and ride the Black Diamond trail. :)

That's one of our favorite WB rides.. well, part anyways! I do commute in WB but alas, it's all city riding. Not nearly as scenic, LOL.

We've never been. Neither of us have the kind of bike that trail needs so we stay on paved roads/MUPs!

well, I had one up until yesterday.

I've ran across a few women on hormone therapy that had some serious 5 o'clock shadow going on so, women aren't totally out of this thread

As a testicular cancer survivor (2 years and all clear!) I encourage all Jewish and Italian women to not wax their upper lip for the month in show of solidarity.
Also I gladly rock the most ridiculous 'stache I can for the month and remind my fellow menfolk to check their teste(s) regularly...or have their partner help, its more fun that way.

I have seen quite a few road bikes on the Black Diamond trail, although it isn't quite as smooth as the majority of the Lehigh Gorge where I have seen more road bikes. I plan to ride next year on my vintage touring bike with 27 x 1 & 1/4 tires, and I won't hesitate to ride any of the D&L trail, although it would be less than ideal for the first mile or two either side of downtown White Haven. In doing the Black Diamond, I drive to the road crossing north of White Haven instead of the White Haven tail head, because the trail surface is better from that point northward.

Welcome to the forum Eveready! Nice beard/moustache combo! Very impressive. What Trek model is that you've got? Still have it? If not, what have you got now?

Been letting mine grow for the 11 years since I broke my ankle. Every now and then I grab a fist full at the end and cut that much off.

So your avatar isn't a picture of you? I should have known.

ofgit 11-06-14 01:26 PM

Not me. A member didn't like my other avatar and when I changed it, I quickly picked one from some saved from the net pics. Course I had to edit the 'words of wisdom' associated with that old geezer's look though.

agmetal 11-06-14 01:40 PM

My bike isn't really in the frame, and my beard's grown a couple inches longer since then, but:

(I'm the one on the right, btw)

Eveready 11-06-14 08:04 PM

Thanks, my granddaughter(5 years old), wanted me to grow one.
So whatever Addilynn asks her Poppy to do, her Poppy does.
Nobody ever really told me a model for it, but it is the one that got stolen.
I now have a more modest Trek 700, which actually suits me better.
The bike in the picture was a little too much for me anyways.
I plan on riding the 700 for another year and by then I will know more what I want.
But it will almost definitely be a Trek. I am liking the Trek Crossrip.
I just don't want to spend $1,000 on a bike and discover later that it isn't what I really want.

Ok, I'll give it a go. here's after about a week. Just starting to get itchy

I'll check back in at the end of the month

beanteck 11-07-14 08:09 AM

Great thread idea. Nice to put some faces with the names. I've had a beard, goatee and sideburns, etc. since I could grow them. Ive mostly kept everything pretty close to my face, but decided to sorta "let it go" this spring.

more recent, still keeping it fairly tight on the sides. Go Green!

I had a beard for 30 years, but saw pics of myself at my 30-year high-school reunion and wondered who that old guy was. Here's a pic from that year:

Ok I'll play. My beard is kinda weak but my wife won't let me shave it because she thinks I look like I'm 12.
