Frame identification help...
10 Attachment(s)
I have a mystery frame that all of my local resources are stumped on…I have zero background on it. Bought it on Ebay thinking it would make a nice cross build but the chainstay clearance is only about 35mm. Headset is EC30 and BB is standard english thread.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated…pictures tell the story. |
Appears to have been "crewed".

Not familiar with that term?...

The cable guides on the outsides of the seatstays just above the dropouts are interesting. Since the derailleur hanger was also removed, I wonder if it had been modified to use an internally geared hub and drum brakes?

Yeah I'm stumped on why there are two…don't know of any drum brakes or IGH that require two cables other than the old SA 5 speed hubs.
|
It isnt a Trek or Cannondale. Not that I'm working the process of elimination or anything.

The "J" and "C" initials are the big clue but I can't find a builder to match. The lugs aren't special so it's no biggie to me that it's been powdercoated. I think when he said "crewed" he meant "drewed" which is the term given to bikes that have had derailleur hangers cut off by a Dremel tool. |
