New to me

Sears model 236.472610 badge says made in Austria, frame (rear brake mount) marked made in Germany. shimano 333 rear hub. Serial number 33278 on drop. I can find it was likely made by Puch in Austria but no more info.

All original and in good shape. Apparently ridden very little - tread on tires looks new (dry rot, however). Came with owners manual. No copyright date.

I would like to know the date it was made as it is really cool and I anticipate a lot of question as I tool it around my neighborhood!

Anybody know how I might go about dating it and learning specifics of its origin? I'm not asking for anyone to do the work for me, just point me in the right direction.

Please show us some photos of the bike. Close ups of the derailleurs and any decals are very helpful.

Check the back side of the Brake Caliper arms, there may be a date code stamped there...often is.

No date stamp on back of brake arm. Nothing stamped on bottom bracket either. I will look on the hub when I get off work today (gotta wipe 40+ years of barn crud off first). Any other places where a date might be? Also - frame is welded, not lugged, crank is cottered three piece, not the "Murray/Huffy/USA one piece. Would any other pics be helpful to anyone?

Looks just like the one I bought for my wife when we first got married ($10 - garage sale) even had the same baskets. Wish we'd kept it

Probably 60s-70s built by these guys.
