Fuji Serial Number help
Let me begin by stating that I have looked at the classic Fuji site in an attempt to decode this number; I have a Royale in metallic brown that has a serial number of 79B01010. The "7" stamping does not have the top portion of the digit, but I'm pretty sure that is the number. Any thoughts?

Got any photos? It might be easier to ID by the components, decals, and paint than by the serial.

My Royale has the number FJ926867 assigned to it , kind of odd that your number is a much different format. They do state on the Fuji site that there are five formats .

Per T-Mar's excellent Fuji serial number thread, I'd say your bike serial number of 79B01010 indicates your bike was the 1010th Fuji bike made in February of 1979.
SERIAL NUMBERS 1976-1978*: Serial number format YYXZZZZZ where: YY = two numbers indicating the year of production X = a letter, indicating the calendar month of manufacturer (A = January, B = February, C = March, etc) ZZZZZ = a five digit number sequence, probably indicating frame number during month Example: 77B13425 indicates the 14.425th frame manufactured during February 1977. |

I think you nailed it. Thanks. From the color, I knew it was either a '79 or '80, but the number format was throwing me off. |
I'm always looking for an excuse to post a photo of my '79 Royale, the one that started it all for me with Fuji ..
