Missed out again !

Not a bike, but just on Acorn bags. I was able to get in and get a front Rando bag, but I missed out on both the roll bag and the medium saddle bag. Bummer. Time to start searching for a black canvas match to my front bag.

Acorn have an interesting business model.

Yes they do.

I really believe they make as many as they are able each month.

I've been recommending Frost River to Acorn fans. They make great products for backwater kayaking and canoeing.

I have two of their large bags for our canoes and they are real winners in the BWCA.

They also make great bags for bikes. Stylish and durable I think.

Also, they ship fast as their products are in stock.

I am going to stop at their factory in a week and see if they could whip up a rando bag.

I'll be honest, the business model is a part of why I wanted to get their bags. It's kind of a neat factor to be one of the few to get one. I'm sure there are plenty of other bags out there that do just as good of a job, but I want my bike to be a bit different and I've been slowly building it up to my exact preferences.

I have several Acorn bags...and...I agree...the business model is quite unique...but...can be, ultimately, frustrating. I have come to fully understand about controlling the size of your business...make it as big as you want it to be...and no bigger. But, with Acorn's model, consumers can get very frustrated...I know I was the first time I tried to get bags from them. You can control the business just as well with a "back order" type system...where you only allow a certain number of bags to be ordered...not sure why they do not want to do that as it would stay in line with their way of making bags, but, be less frustrating.

BTW...while the bags are quite nice...and a bit unique...they are nothing that is extraordinarily great...I also have a couple of bags from Frost River and Rivendell...both are as good (maybe better in some ways) than the Acorn bags and come with a lot less waiting/frustration.

I gave up trying to get one.

Starting making my own.

They look nice, however.

I was completely lucky to get my Acorn Boxy Rando Bag. I love it! I realize how lucky I am and I'm thankful for my wife's diligence in checking the Acorn site.

Which reminds me, I still have to reply to your email...

I have several Acorn bags. It just takes patience. And I suppose that some potential buyers might get frustrated and turn elsewhere, but the business model must be working if they continue to be so quickly sold out each month.

Oh, you've seen them, C…haven't you? They're leather though, and not canvas.
I've toyed with the idea of using canvas, with leather trim, and even have that old Singer,
which I think could handle it, but, so many other things and projects going on.

With the "shortage" there currently is, I guess they're just not charging enough.
