1-Adam 12

TV was on at work last night and Adam 12 was on. Judging from the cars it was +/-1970. Plot was guys breaking into cars on sidewalk side, at night. So ride bikes, pose as guys delivering papers. So 5 officers, 3 on bikes w drop bars. I was too far away to make out the bikes, doubt I could have anyway. Was neat, no helmets, adults riding in the dark on sidewalks, no lights. Interesting peek back in time.

My dad never missed an episode of Adam 12, or its relatives, Dragnet and Emergency!.

I think two of the officers had Schwinn versities. I think one of the officer, who INHO was a pain in the butt had a gals bike with basket. But that was the one that got wrecked. He had to explain that to the little gal that came to claim the bike at the end of the show. The little gal was not happy about it...

I have been watching it on Netflicks the last few months. The other night Malloy got a snazzy new Matador.

FWIW The dispatcher was once nominated for a "heard but not seen" award but then she had a 2 short appearances in a episode and lost out. She was a real dispatcher.

77 Sunset Strip. Neighbor had a white 60 T-Bird. I had a 60 Bird for my first car.

I LOVED Emergency!

When I was a kid, I had an Emergency! CB. It was like an ambulance, but a CB.

When I'm watching Roadhouse, I'm always distracted by Roy DeSoto being the REAL star of the movie. And of course, I live for Love Boat and Fantasy Island reruns with Randy Mantooth.

That was a real show/character? I though it was something they made up for Married with Children.

Going through that and Emergency on Netflicks. Also working on the original Hawaii Five-0. Finished Rockford Files this year. I love watching the old cars and catching glimpses of C&V bikes makes it more fun. The 2005 series from the BBC called Torchwood has had a couple of scenes with C&V bikes (non-aero cables) hanging from ceilings

Watched Adam-12 and 77 Sunset Strip when they were on the air originally. We have MeTV, a vintage channel, as a digital off shoot for the CBS affiliate here. I probably spend 2-3 hours each week catching up on old westerns, Perry Mason, Rockford Files, MASH, etc. good programming from some good times for me. The Adam-12 episode with them being paperboys hit home as I was a paperboy for several years in the early 70's, before I left for the USMC.
