Bring in the hounds! Our house is the only one never broken into on our block in 20+yrs. Standard Schnauzers provide excellent security.

We have Penny the Poodle. Not much to worry about but we are gone at times. She doesn't miss many sounds and is a *****.

Penny.jpg

Penny, so smart, So obedient, so loyal and yes can be quite mean has been censored for no improper reason. Penny being mean is not a good thing but is a very controllable character disfunction when on the bike rides we take most everyday.
Using the word in a sentence. Proper #1 definition;

That *&^%$ she just loves the bike ride though!

Well, since I last posted on this thread (previous page, but 2 years ago) I did exactly what Prowler said he'd be tempted to do: I moved everything in without renovating squat. Oh well. It's a good functional shop but not nearly as "nice" as I wanted it to be.

I took some recent pictures of my own, it's a mess right now. As is my house and garage, I'm hoping this shames me into getting some work done.

At least my buddy Sprout is on my side...

Sounds good, the vice needs to be a big good one, preferably an old one from when they were the real deal and have lived to tell about it, the bigger the better to a point, when the going gets tough a big one comes in handy.

It's not always this neat. I just finished cleaning it up. Bikes, cars, woodworkng and vintage audio are my hobbies. I also dabble in model railroading.

I have an alarm system and a pit bull.

The previous owner of this place was obsessed with shelving. There are shelves in the closets inside the house that I (6’2”) can barely reach and that are so narrow that seemingly nothing functional could ever be stored there. It’s weird.

I’d like to remove at least one section of the shelving in the garage to hang some bikes and wheels more easily.

I had missed this thread originally, but its revival came at a good time, as I'm in process converting from Bike Shop to Wood Shop:

Wife asked me to produce a small table/plant stand for our dining nook for her November birthday. So, I suspended work on the Grand Jubile Mixte and finished filing off of some excess brazing at the tube/lug joints on the Stella.

Shop work surfaces are about as clear as it gets, but I already ripped up some oak, so there is dust on everything.
Actually, there's always dust on everything, just more right now. Our property has a slope on the East side, so my shop is in a "daylight" basement under our master bedroom/bathroom.

I have a bit over 600 sq. ft., no room for any more machinery and a 6" Jointer somehow eluded the camera. Don

I see I'm not the only one still using a radial arm saw.

They've been pretty much obsoleted by sliding miter saws.

The Red Star Multiplex is the crown jewel of radial saws, and can cross cut a wider piece than the sliders, but I use that little Delta 900 more often.(For Dado's) Don
