By the 8 leaves on the grass it looks like fall too.

As soon as the last kid graduates college (10 years),I"ll be the one annoying the people up north with posts like this.:)

Henry III 12-07-14 10:06 AM

Took a ride yesterday with the kids and was really nice. Like mid/low 50s here in southern Oregon. Talked to my dad a few days ago and was negative 1 by him in the upper peninsula of michigan. That I don't miss from the upper midwest!

Bianchigirll 12-07-14 10:30 AM

If it gets much colder down there the Iguanas will start dropping from the trees!

Sir_Name 12-07-14 10:46 AM

Sounds terrible. My condolences.

OTS 12-07-14 10:57 AM

Only 4 layers for me this am
a heat wave.
silk + wool + fleece + nylon

gioscinelli 12-07-14 10:57 AM

Went out this morning 30, in the windy city (winds out of the SE 10 to 15mph). Had down filled gloves and shoe covers, it's cold! I saw motor cyclist riding with no gloves or even ear protection, wow! And, all I can look forward to is more cold weather:(

:roflmao2:

When Seattle is in it's winter gloom and people post such nice photos -- I can only say, 'Go find your overpass for 100ft of "hills"?'.
Today is a break for a dry-ish ride.

edit - to M Angelo - very nice Paramount, I bet it fairly glides on decent pavement, but a change from Gatorskins (appropo for S FL) would make it heavenly. A good size frame for the breed.

I always like these cheeky posts from all you Floridazona types.

Yesterday's ride in sunny Minnesota.

On the bright side, we can ride at noon in August.

It's cold but bright here. I would have gone riding, but other duties conspire to keep me in for now. Too bad, 'cuz I'll be riding to the station in the rain all week.

Michael Angelo 12-07-14 11:30 AM

I even have to start wearing socks, at least until February.

Lol, mid 60's? That's when I'm debating whether or not I should be wearing a shirt. But I guess in FL, you never see the kind of hills we have around here. :)

It is supposed to warm up to freezing this week...

It's supposed to be over freezing the whole day tomorrow in my area -- might ride the road bike to work! :D

Michael Angelo 12-07-14 12:27 PM

I've never seen snow. ......

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=421654http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=421655I don't mind riding when it's cold or when it's wet. I don't like riding when it's cold and wet. Too much potential for ice. We had significant (8") of snow in the valley last February and I tried riding a big tired bike in it. Was challenging to ride in fresh powder.

Avoid The Netherlands. Freezing rain in slightly above freezing temperatures are our mode de vie. Riding to school in ice water for a few years never hurt me though.

I took the Paramount out today too. Temps in the low 80s. I have to ask myself why I ride anything else. Invariably I do though.

AZORCH 12-07-14 04:34 PM

30 and wet yesterday; a degree or two warmer today and drier too - but with a touch of wind. A day for layering, but it felt darned good to be out there once my ears acclimated.

clubman 12-07-14 04:46 PM

1 degree about freezing today. Dressed for the part for a 25 k ride but forgot my warm booties. Had to shorten ride by several k. Going up the mountain, fine, coming down, not fine.

Low to upper 30s this weekend, perfect bike riding weather for the midwest in December! Took the B'stone XO-2 out yesterday and today and knocked out 50 miles. The 26 x 1.5 tires are a plus as the MUPs still have some snow/ice on them.

Last weekend was a whole different story as there was a lot more snow out there:

You have Tarpon, we have Pike.

Big Pike.

They'll take a finger if you aren't careful.

Sort of. :)

Our snow just melted, as it always does after a day or two, then 2 days of rain to wash away some of the salt they put everywhere out here (since West Coast people are seemingly bloody terrified of any and all ice, rightly so given how many either don't make the switch to winter tires and/or simply don't know how to drive on the stuff)...

10ºC/50ºF today, sunny and clear. Short days, of course, but snuck in 20-30km looping around the neighbourhood (clad in shorts, wool knee-socks, and a light, but long-sleeved, Merino jersey).

Beautiful views of the North Shore mountains, the city, and the port activity along the Vancouver Harbour.

I grew up in Saskatchewan (a ways north of North Dakota, eh?). I don't miss the Prairies much on days like today.

jimmuller 12-07-14 06:09 PM

From today's ride, temps in the low to mid 30's. Not a bad day.
