Lucky MiamiJim
lots of quotes about how hard working folks create their own luck.

Smaug was a bike hoarder? I realized that! Clearly more evidence that JRRK was way ahead of his thyme.

Nice score and in great condition, too. Just be careful how much pressure you put that thing through, seeing as it's the first gen spindle that was prone to breakage.

Not positive, but he recently acquired a custom Paramount, I believe. Super nice. You can search forum for the thread.

I had similar fortune on ONE ebay purchase. The Super Record pedals were overlooked in the listing of the bike, actually much was, but the images told most of the story.
The seller had done a small amount of research priced it with a stiff but not beyond reason initial bid and I was the only bidder.
Also risky as it was to be packed "expertly" by a local bike shop…

No, not from the Paramount, that's an all Dura Ace bike.

The bike it came from was acquired from a guy who bought it from Goodwill for $75....time to go out and check the pedals.

If the English pronounce aluminum, aluminium…how come they don't pronounce titanium, uh ….titaninium?

never mind. Nice find.

Anyone know if it's possible to press new cones onto the spindle? Maybe moot as one would have to find them first. The one that came on my Team Champion became pitted. Yeah, that was my fault.

Even if they make them it would most likely be easier and cheaper to buy a new spindle.

The BB that came on my '76 Fuji track bike was cobbled together...supurbe pro cups and teledyne Ti road spindle. Never noticed it until recently when the cones wore out. So now I have a cool paperweight!
