Junk
I have 3 more piles like this to go through. Problem is I just can't get myself to throw any of this stuff away. I do repairs on mostly Walmart type bikes, so this "crap" sometimes comes in handy, but I need to force myself to scrap some of it. Anyone else have real junk pile problems?

You consider this stuff junk?
I have, ah, components looking for a bike. Some deserve to be on a bike such as I'll never want to ride. So yeah, that could be considered a problem.

I guess I am the local co-op. No other shop around. And the Abbey bottle is junk, but what was inside was not!

Not a problem yet.
I don't see a stack of mouldering centerpull brakes in your collection, their pads hardened to a granite-like texture.
Your cranksets also have both arms - you aren't holding on to a 170mm Shimano 600 Arabesque drive side crank "just in case" you find a matching left arm*.
You don't have nearly enough seatposts, or seat post 'guts' for older low end bikes.
I also don't see any axles, or quick release skewers.
Where are the mismatched pedals, or random single frame / bar pads from BMX bikes?
Also missing are the large stack of tires/wheels/rims/tubes.
Yes, I'm also the co-op for my neighborhood. How did you guess?
Edit: I also left out the random lengths of salvaged brake/derailleur cables & housing. Not to mention headsets & bottom brackets of various dimensions/threadings/fitments. And hubs**

* I found one.
**Helicomatics get scrapped. Even I have standards.

I have all that crap you mentioned, this is just a small fraction of parts. I was given over 100 bikes by the local police dept. I stripped almost all the bikes for parts, and scrapped the frames. My garage attic is full of cheap wheelsets and 26" nobby tires. Not to mention 30 forks with shocks. This way I can work on local kids bikes and not have to charge any money for parts.

And good for you, for taking care of the local rides.
