Campagnolo Chorus brake levers hoods - Gum colour?

I have a mint pair of first gen Campy Chorus brake levers. They are that light grey colour. I know they come in black also. My problem is that I have white leather brooks bar tape and white leather Rolls saddle. The white leather and the grey hoods just dont cut it.

Has anyone ever used older SR/NR hoods on these levers? Think Gum coloured hoods would look great on my saronni Red Colnago with white lettering.

Thank you all
M

The original Chorus levers came with white hoods, and black was introduced later. I believe the grey hoods would have been a lower level lever. Any pics?

As to your main question no you can't use the older SR/NR gum hoods on these levers the body is much bigger than the SR/NR body.

Firstly, thank you.

The 90 Colnago has white lettering, white houseing, white leather Rolls, white leather Brooks tape. The grey just seems wrong. Any advice on changing the colour?

I have a set of these also and recently installed both new hoods on my SR levers and the Chorus. Night and day difference in girth between the two.

I remember buying a set of those levers; mine I believe was white but velobase shows several of these levers with the gray. The ones I bought also had a plug in the top so one could choose between aero or not. The hoods are interchangeable with the Record white hoods of the same period so you should be able to find them if you want white
