A friend uses "holy sheep dip"

I like "crap in a hat!"
"That really cheeses my whiz"
"Poop"

My mechanic simply exclaims "Bad word!"

When my daughter swore in front of my FIL, I held my breath as he asked, "Where did you learn that?" I breathed a sigh of relief when she replied, " Mommy." Mommy is the potty mouth, but it's hard not to let one fly in the appropriate circumstances.

This reminds me ... when I was learning Italian I was reading an Italian comic book and the swear word was "Maledizione" which I transliterated as "bad words". I was amused. Once my Italian improved I realized that a better translation would, of course, be "maledictions" or "curses".

I did try to use "maledizione" for a while, but I could not make it automatic.

... cue sound of crickets chirping ...

Ha, that's pretty bad. My uncle would say "Great Scott" when he got excited. I've got no idea what it meant.

While I've never met Grant, and I do here he is a nice guy, I have talked to "legendary" wheel builder Peter White several times on the phone. He lives about 25 miles away.

After each call, I wanted to or or or or or possibly !

Therefore "Peter White!" would work for the purposes of this thread. In my limited experience with him, he fits the model of what we call here in Northern New England, "A Cranky Yankee" to a T.

Funny thing too is that I later found out that my uncle Don was a cook in the Navy during WWII. So maybe she knew from experience...

Try googling 'minced oaths'. There's a whole body of them, in rhyming slang or otherwise.

Got a whole phrase you could say in front of either your pastor or your mother - syphilis, spreadin', sperm burpin', gutter **** (I have to put this as **** because y'all's programme edited my original term that has a 'u' in place of the *.
Or, "fudge" in place of that slang term for "fornicate". Then there's "chucklehead", "expletive deleted", another that your programme edited for me was "******" with an 'e' in place of the *,"re-re", one my mom used frequently while I was growing up - "son of a biscuit eater", "commie A-hole", or more politically oriented, "Obama voter".

If you're trying not to swear, a study by Cambridge University found that people that swear are more loyal, trustworthy, and honest than folks that don't swear. Go figure.

Funny... Bush has become a four-letter word in our house.

I've been calling certain people of ill repute at work "Dill Weed" and "Hugh Jackman".... these seem to be close enough to translate into the real terms.

I'm thinking that's likely because you're a commie pinko ('course, the only evidence I have for my assertion is your avatar of Mikhail Gorbachev in a Soviet jersey).
Holy crap, I just checked out your page and I see you in a similar Commie Jersey, so you are a commie-pinko!!!

Thank you sir for the welcome, but what did race have to do with anything? The basic racial makeup of the old Soviet Union is very nearly ****geneous.
Oh, and I don't hold being a commie against you, or even regarding what you say,
