-Recabled the 1988 Peugeot Triathlon....
-Took the Peloton for an around-the-subdivision spin
-Started building up the 1992 Diamondback. Need to decide If I'm doing a 10/8 Shimergo with Veloce or 10 Speed Tiagra or 105. Rest of the bike is Ultegra 6500.
-Tried unsuccessfully to get in a good long ride

Today I rode the Gazelle to and from the office. This evening I get to patch the tubular tire which picked up a staple from the office carpet.

Wahoo ! Download yea. Put another group set on my 1981 Dawes, Suntour ARX and switched out the Dawes scroll HB for the GB " map of England " set. Re wrapping with the brown cotten bar tape again.

Morning found me out on the road this Paddy's day visiting my folks in the cemetery and completing a nice ride afterward on my new 1991 Bianchi.

Settled in to finish the day with a nice Sam Adams Boston lager.

Attached these straps for the bottle cage. Lining it with electrical tape, cutting the excess away, trying to assemble with short screws.... Somehow I thought it was going to be easier than it actually was.

Shaking down the drivetrain of my 1x9 Bianchi city bike build-in-progress. Friction shifting nine cogs 12-34 seems to work just OK so far; a bit ghosty on the bigger cogs which is PITA when you're grinding up the kind of hill I geared it for. Next I'm going to pull the Campagnolo Rally RD (looks great!) and swap in the much more modern 105 RD I just got from @Spoonrobot. Fenders go on this weekend and I'm fiddling with custom fitting a chainguard from an old Murray or something, while also digging through my big box o' cranksets to get something with a bit more space between the arm and ring, to accommodate said chain guard. Ultimate plan is all that plus possible integrated rack brazed on, plus celeste powder coat with white painted panels and custom old-timey looking Bianchi decals. Tipo Città

Also fixing my first flat of the year! Reminds me of why I like aero levers, even on older bikes.

I was working on a early 90s Trek 1100 which had me changing brake cables on aero levers for the first time; Suntour. Not a problem but changing out the rear housing was a puzzle - internal routing thru the top tube. I decided to leave the old cable in place, pull the old housing out the back then feed the new housing onto the old cable, into the rear TT hole, along the old cable and out the front hole. Easy with just a bit of wiggling to get the lead end of the housing thru the front hole. Then pulled the old cable out and proceeded from there. Slick. One more skill in my C&V bag.

I got fitted for a new/vintage stem on my Eddy Merckx Slurpie.........then for my Eroica CA training I did 35 miles up and over Donner Summit 7000ft+ ...it was raining and then snowing on the summit when I crested....gotta Love It!

Not hard, just plan before you proceed. Do one cable at a time. Depending on if you have non a or areo brakes. Exposed cables are easy as you release the cable from the DR. Pull the cable out from the lever. Cut housing from lever to cable stop same length as the old one. Do this for all housing. Thread new cable into lever then through housing all the way back to the DR. Do this for both.

if areo then you will have to remove handle bar tape before going forward.

best way... Watch you tube videos till you get it down pat.

I am now starting on an abused 1973 Schwinn Twinn De Lux with the expander brake wish me luck just getting the parts I will need to replace on it and having fun locating them.
Can not post pic yet comp has technical difficulties.

Spent most of the afternoon fitting Pasela 700x37's to a '70's Raleigh Super Grand Prix, overhauling the headset, adjusting the brakes... and then discovering that the wheelset has what looks like a 130mm spaced 7s freehub. It doesn't play well with the 120mm? spaced dropouts and the bolt-on derailleur hanger (that was bent so it would shift to the lowest gear). Why I didn't notice this when I bought it is beyond me, but I now have a decent set of wheels and need a 700c 5s threaded rear wheel.

I spent an hour or so yesterday patching up a tubular. Today however, well, the only bike-related thing will be shoveling snow so I can maybe ride tomorrow or Wednesday. Oh wait, I'm reading BikeForums. Does that count?

Yesterday I built the 1963 Ideor folder back up. Only task left is finishing the shifter cable for the 333 hub. I'll post photos when it's done. The rear brake cable has a mech in the middle that splits when you split the frame. Strange and I've implored my wife to only use the front brake. Too many place where force is lost on that rear brake cable run.
