FINALLY started to tear down the Botteccia. Actually started two days ago. Today was the fork removal.
Tomorrow I hope to clean the frame and fork. HS races removed from the frame and the HS assembly placed in OA. Probably will leave the crown race on the fork.

I've got two of my bikes for sale on my local CL. Have some interest already, despite the rain.

@arex - would really like to see your R20 when you've got time to post.

I dropped the fork from a Lotus Éclair at the powder coaters yesterday. The chrome socks were in pretty bad shape where the paint line meets them. They are going to try to save the lower section of chrome and powder coat the rest of the fork to match as closely as they can to the original color. The rest of the bike is in reasonably good shape. Pictures when I get it back.

Meeting up with some buddies to plan our ride this summer to Manitoba and Ontario after work.

So many great riding opps this summer......

Also, dropping off a bike I facilitated this week to a member on PL.

Wish it fit me, as it's a beautiful older Wilier. Just happy it found a new home.

Cleaning up the Super Strada. Maybe riding too, but riding = less progress on the Univega and I want that bike done ASAP.

I'm bringing my Raleigh Super Course back up to the country house this weekend. It's been sitting in my office for months. I like a spare bike at the office in case I want to ride during the day. Now my office bike is my Viscount fixie, though I need to dig up a pair of rattrap pedals with toe clips, in case I'm wearing regular shoes.

Getting loud continuously honked at by my close neighbor as he flew by. Apparently, as he said when I rode by, I don't belong on the road.

old guy in one of those huge trucks. Report will be filed. His kind usually continue this behavior.

Police have already been to my house and incident documented.

Should be no problem. Had that happen with a bent key. My shop called their number and a free key came soon after.

You want me to come down?
I can show him the DMV driver's pamphlet, even sound out the words for him.

I will try the officers suggestion, hope nothing more comes of it but report if harassment continues. You need to rest after that 34 miler you just put in.

I still have the free hit offer to use from my Fathers former client.

My day started out great, rained on but who cares as I tear around town between Lawyer and bank closing the final items to my Parent's Estate. Finally will be over but the rememberences.

My colleague's one year old bike got stolen this week, and she needs a new one. She wants a newly produced transport bike, so I can't do much, except accompany her to the bike shop and see what's on offer. $700 for a decent new simple bike. Cripes!

I didn't say much.

I required this work on my clavicle after a very, very, very short ride on Geraldine (my SBDU bike). The X-ray was taken today, and it's clearly C&V related. If I'm lucky I'll be allowed back on a bike in a few months. Geraldine is fine, thankfully. I'm so limited in activities I'm going nuts!

Yesterday, at my part time LBS job, an old gentlemen brought in his Crescent Monark Roadster. I'm guessing it's about a 1970 - dirty but is pretty good shape. Enough grime to keep the rust at bay. He wants a "full overhaul" but I offered to work up an estimate then he can decide where to draw the line. Pretty neat studying it. He was REAL pleased that someone knew what it was and how special it was. Wing nuts on the front hub, Huret FD & RD, one piece crank, aluminum fenders, CLB brakes, Campy QR skewer on the rear. Hopefully, I'll be the one to do the work. I'm even thinking of doing some pro-bono cleaning and restoration just cuz it's cool and he's love the bike for so many decades.

Looks just like this image from Bikecult.com
plus some original canvas paniers and a pair of brackets on the top tube "for my dog stick". I could only guess what the 'dog stick' was for (prior to leash laws).

^^ I always did a little extra cleaning on the good ones that came into the shop. Even better when I got to talk to the owner and find out the story.

Right you are about the owner feeling good that someone else thinks their bike is special.

I am taking my C & V Vixen self in a 7 mike training walk/run, then rewrapping the bar tape in the Univega & touch up painting the rear reflector housing on my all original '72 Raleigh Twenty. I might need a nap in there somewhere given I got up at 0445.

The worst part is its a neighbor. I would have to think through but would find a way to properly address it, I hate things like that hanging over me.

Repacked head and bb on the old Schwinn last night and mocked up to see what I have left to do, about to ride then have to work several hours.

Wet sanding the Miyata 610 frame, clear coating the fork, and hopefully starting to get component positions mocked up.
