Something told me to show up early to the Cub House swapmeet and sure enough it paid off. Dug thru a box of parts before the seller could lay them out and made a $60 offer on all these. He accepted. I went home skipping.

Put some 26x1.5 tires on my Marin, and while riding noticed my brakes squeaking. Got home and saw I had put the Canti arms on wrong. Took the brakes apart and put them back together and adjusted. Seems good now.

Everything here is C&V so it’s not hard to be doing something related. Yesterday I finished an overhaul on a 1969 Philips Master Model for one of my sons. General cleanup, truing, swapped in a 20T cog and new chain, did a front hub, BB and headset cleanup and lube, and pumped oil into the AW hub.
Today, searched for a click that seems B.B. or crank related on my 1971 International. I thought I spotted a chain link out of what I in my last ride but didn’t find anything in closer scrutiny. Saved the search for another day.
Followed that with a cleanup on my commuter ‘66 Raleigh Sports. Oiled the AW hub and found a sticky pedal to adjust. Straightened some bends in the chain guard. It’s also got a little chirpy sound of some kind of metal strike that I couldnt locate, but I noticed the rear wheel was a little off-center and one of the fender stays was lightly rubbing the tire sidewall. Maybe that was it, I’ll know next time I ride it.
Then I got on my ‘87 Mercian and rode 25 miles. That’s a good weekend!

Yesterday, swapping some rear derailleur around in an attempt to make everyone happy and it turns out that a 6700 won't play nice with a 6-7-8 speed chain even though it looked ok on my '87 Schwinn Circuit. Well I wasn't putting the 7700 back on because it will be needed when the whole 7700 groupo goes on my Medici so.... I Put my welding helmet on CL and immediately got bites. It sold, and today I offered 60% for a proper Sprint Derailleur and it was accepted. I had 20 bucks left and via CL, will pick up a yellow Selle San Marco ERA for my wife's Miami Vice.

I spent some time touching up a couple of wee rust spots on the Raleigh Pro that had appears since I'd done the full restoration 4 years ago. Easy stuff. While I was at it, I did "the aluminum foil trick" on all the chrome then two coats of wax. This was on principle only. I did not see any rust on the chrome but decided, after four years it was due. Great British chrome.

Well, its raining buckets so no riding today. So.........
It's resto-mod day. I have an 87 Trek 560 in ridiculously pristine shape, that I am converting from 6 speed to HyperGlide 7-speed, Microshift brifters, Mavic Reflex rims (they're blue!!), Nitto noodle bars and a seat that fits. Oh, and Ultegra 6500 brakes, cuz I want to be able to stop, and I have a set on the shelf.
Keeping the Shimano 600 SIS derailleurs and BioPace rings.
Just loose fitting right now, but it all lines up and looks nice.

I cleaned up my workspace, too. Well, it's far from done, but at least I started it.
I did a lot of repairs on our C&V house, not a bike. 1863, specifically.

Went for my first midweek ride in nearly a year, with an old friend from the UK. He rode the Holdsworth Special, I was on the Faggin. He'd not used DT shifters since he was a kid. Trying to find more gears, he pulled back so hard on the FD lever, the outer split. He spent the rest of the ride in 39 at the front.

I consider it C&V related. Mainly because a lot of us do it. Not going near a bike today.

The weather was crappy and the World Championship Team Time Trials were on, so parts cleaning in front of the TV was in order.
A pair of Shimano non-aero SLR levers, intended to improve the brake performance of the tandem. And a pair of Gran Compe aero levers that I bought just because they look so pretty.

I was going to do an early-fall overhaul on the gold Colnago, but since it's sunny and dry, I think I'll go for a ride instead!

I got the '78 Peugeot out for a 32 mile club ride today. I was the only one on old steel, but had no trouble keeping up. When we started out the headset nut was loose. I just rode it yesterday, no issue. Nobody had a wrench even close to size, and we didn't even see a gas station, so I just kept checking it by hand as I rode. I could actually feel it turn by hand while riding. No other problems, and survived to ride again. There were some amazing cactus blooms out along the road near Somis, CA. Been riding there for years, never saw blooms like these. Good times!

@Slightspeed, I grew very small cacti when I was a kid. Are those big ones dangerous? They sure are pretty.

Waiting on the front porch for someone to pick up some damaged goods for free. A Univega with a bent seat stay, and two mystery frames with wrecked front ends.

Patching tubes and polishing a set of Super Champion Gentleman rims that certainly need polishing.
