Raining/drizzling all day in my neck of the woods, so I polished up one of the Mafac Racer calipers I was given a few days ago. 'Pleased with how it turned out. The weather forecast for tomorrow suggests more of the same, so I'll probably get after the other one.
FWIW, I used a small pneumatic die grinder with 3" diameter sanding pads to remove the nicks/scrapes and forging lines, then coarse & fine buffing wheels mounted on an old bench grinder. 'Took about 2 hours to complete what you see.

Fitted a set of co-op fenders today. They came without hardware so it took a bit of creative “fabrication” to hang them.



Also tore down a couple pairs of decrepit Racers, and bagged them up for future overhaul.

And after some soaking in penetrant, I’m hoping to pull the bottom bracket.

Sitting at home twiddling my vintage thumbs looking out the window at all the smoke from the Camp Fire 200 miles from here. Waiting for the air quality to improve enough so I can get back on the bike. Doing a rain dance. It's a strange new world in which I find myself hoping for rain so that I can ride my bike!

Ah! Ok! Yes that’d work. Simple, and smart. I haven’t run into many lock rings or fixed cups that wouldn’t budge, but this is one of them.
It’s a rare set of cups. Galli double adjustable. Left side came off easy but the drive side notches were beginning to look comprised from the attempts to loosen it.
This bar clamp system should keep the tool from slipping and allow some real force to be applied. Thanks again!

Assembling this thing by trial and error with pieces from varied sources. It appears fully functional; I'm cautiously optimistic about its being paired with an old Campy NR.

Finally finished building a set of wheels on my nicely polished Schwinn Approved LeTour hubs, which I have posessed since buying that old LeTour in the late 70's. About 5 or 6 years ago, I relieved the hubs of the dented and rusty steel rims they came with, but they've been sitting since then.
Shout out to @speedevil for the nice deal on the PBP VO rims; I told you I'd get around to using them, eventually
