I did some wrenching on the new-to-me '77 Gazelle. Tweaking cable lengths, FD adjustment, that sort of stuff.

Replacing an Avocet triple with a Super Custom triple made into a double. Better for around here( 36-47 ). The Avocet will move to a coming Voyageur 11.8 Next an adjusting of a Deore LX dr change for the Schwinn.
all this after sweating through 72 deg. polar Bear ride today

I spent two hours completely disassembling, cleaning, and re-assembling a set of 1st gen DA calipers and brake levers. Yesterday it was a 1st gen Cyclone FD and RD. Pending wheels, this build will be done.

Sliced an inch and a half off of the rear brake cable and housing on the Faema Merckx.
The right cable loop off of the brake lever housing was slightly higher than the left one, drove me crazy.
Then went out and rode it 32 miles.

Climbed up into the attic...

50 weight?

Oooooo! 100 better than 531!

Full 600 set

Not even trying to hide the obvious cloning!

Chrome sox and Anaya rims.

Love this color comb...no matter what bike it is on...

Needs attention.
I’v been pulling bikes down from the attic since I was moving the Christmas stuff around.
I got into the far end and found this Vista a la Motobecane!
There are maybe 15 bikes up here...3 or 4 bikes have made it down stairs and have been rebuilt and are filling up my garage shop.
Here’s pics...

Cleaning up a set of 80 DC G brakes. Replacing a few things, acorn nut on a pivot bolt on one, cable anchor on another. Rubber cap on a cable adjuster nut. The sliding mech which holds the cable adjuster had seized so was replaced with a new one.
Last an an almost new set of Continental Kool Stop pads.

Just watching the rain drops and hoping it doesn't wash out tomorrow's Pasadena vintage ride. I missed last month too. I need to get the Peugeot out in the sun again. 12 inches of rain in just over a week just isn't like California.

Enough with the rain ... lets ride!

Installed a headset in my new-to-me '91 Cannondale SR800 and will be building it up starting tonight as I've just compounded and waxed the paint.
Update: Bottom bracket threading was surprisingly grumpy in spite of the condition of the outgoing BB and overall frame. Maybe it was the BB-7700 unit I had. At any rate, it's in, and other components are mounted. More tomorrow.

Taking some pics of a bike that's just too big for me, but might fit a tall friend. An early nineties 66cm Giant Peloton Superlite. An impressive and underrated machine, IMO.

What is the top tube length on that? Beautiful bike. My/our size--well, mostly as we tend to ride the same size bikes. If the top tube is less than 61cm for a given 73° "normalized" seat tube angle, it will fit me. Not that I'm looking/asking for another bike. Just filing it away in my head for later!
