I don't see any drilling on the frame, what's up with that?

AZORCH 02-01-15 04:05 PM

I cannot even begin to compete with DD in this category, but here is my entry - currently on my 1966 Paramount.

I don't own this bike any more but still have the drillium goodies. I have plans for them.

Only mine is a professionally done factory drillium job, not like that goofy amateur junk you plonk onto all of your bikes, Jeff. :Dhttp://www.zoominto.com/zoomapi/ZoomButt.gif

This is starting to remind me of 'Catch 22' where everyone is running around asking everyone to sign a loyalty oath.

Have drill, will travel!

BITD, there was a Raleigh Competition around Cambridge that had been drilled past the point of no return. Somehow, I forget the details, some reinforcing had been done.

Drilled calipers, however, are damn near the point of no return.

I've got some other lightened but not drilled stuff, but no photos.

DD took special care to get just the right amount of drillium so it would whistle Anchors Aweigh as he rode.

Self inflicted or acquired, or would that require further division. Must say, done well it looks rather fetching. Look forward to seeing lots of photo's.

I suppose the illogical excess would be drillium carbon fiber . . .

Did these in about '78 as I remember. With a hand held drill.

This is all the drillium I have, alas. There was a rumor that I might come into possession of an official Drillium Dude piece at some point but …...:innocent:

Nicely done.

Thanks Lynn. I keep meaning to go back at these with a little more work , now that I have a proper drill press. Someday, maybe.

72 Cinelli SC with drillium on the brake levers, cranks, rings, RD and a couple little hits on the pedals.

75 Bianchi Specialli with drilled front and rear brake callipers and DT shifters. I think it came from the factory with this work done as I've seen catalogues and photos of similar bikes done the same way.

Great pics, everyone - please keep them coming (I know there's more out there).

Scott: you're still on the list, just taking my time getting it going. After the Bike Swap I'm wide open :)

LazyLegs: either or as far as I'm concerned.

Otis: your work covers the entire spectrum, so I humbly ask for a pic or two of your vintage stuff, too!
