Bianchi: what do I have here?

Picked up a mystery Bianchi today. SLX Frame, gipiemme dropouts, campy throughout (not sure which group).

Looking for some idea about what exactly I have here, as I am not a bianchi expert by any means. Also, what campy group is this?

looks like Campagnolo Athena. An SLX frame is very nice, but I don't know what the model name might be. Chrome drop-outs are nice. I would have expected a higher teir group on a frame like that. If you aren't going to use those shimano M737 pedals I could use me... let me know.... I could trade some clips and straps type pedals if that is what you are into.

Beautiful Bianchi!!! that is a really nice looking '89 Giro with, as pointed out, Athena w/ Synchro 2 shifters.

In '89 the Mondaile, Super Leggera and Giro all shared the same SLX with the only difference being a chrome chainstay for the Mondaile and the Giro was offered in that great matte black w/ Celeste decal scheme. The Mondiale wore a Croce de Anue group while the Super Leggera sported the fabulous Chorus group.

Great find I hope it fits.

Rode it briefly last night and I think it fits. 60cm c-t-c frame with 58 cm top tube. Needs new cables and some new grease.

I got it for 350.... Did I do ok?

now on to the big question...what color bar tape to get for this one?

Seems like a nice bike so far. Kind of an accidental purchase as I've never closely looked at bianchis before.

With the Celeste saddle you may have to go with celeste or white tape. Those saddles can dirty quick too. I like black saddles, blue cables and tape.
