Velocals flavors
I'm planning to re-decal my recently repainted Miyata 1000, and from what I hear Velocals is the place to source what I need. They have the tubing decals and the correct 1981 version of the 1000 decals I need. But they come in three flavors--2 mil for applying beneath clearcoat, and 1 mil and 1 mil high gloss (or some such, I can't remember exactly how they're described) that seem to be designed to go over the clearcoat.
But unless I'm somehow not seeing it, the site doesn't explain the differences between these three versions. Can anyone here explain what they are? Both 1mm versions are quite a bit more expensive, but since my frame is already clearcoated, it would seem that one of those might be the best choice. But then again, maybe not, since I care less about which version would look "best" than which version would most closely match the 1981 originals. Maybe the cheaper 2mm version would be fine? Can anyone weigh in on this? |
The decals for over the clear I believe are uv protected. And also have more of a gloss finish to them.
