Application of clear stickers
 

I have seen a lot of info regarding application of vinyl decals with water and a tiny bit of dish soap... makes sense... allows for a bit of forgiveness and makes getting the bubbles easier...

Question is: will this method appropriate for ANY kind of sticker?

Will it work on these clear stickers?

Waterslide decals are typically soaked in lukewarm (not hot) water for a minute; then slid off their backing paper onto the frame. To my knowledge, waterslide decals are not printed on, or marketed as "vinyl" stickers.

Vinyl decals are typically just peel and stick; plastic printed stickers mounted on a white backing paper. No water needed. If you get them wet, you will ruin them.

Either can be printed on clear stock, but they are two completely different animals. Check with your supplier to see which kind you have.

Vynil decals CAN be applied using soap and water. Many installers use this technique to slide and adjust positions because the vying will distort if you try to pull it off dry while adjusting. The clear backing stickers are a different matter though. Your frame has to be really clean, the solution you use has to be squeegee'd out diligently so it doesn't leave "dry bubbles" that will show through. Normally after you install vynil using soap and water you just let dry and just get any air bubbles outs it does. The clear you may have to use a blow dryer set on low and kept a fair distance away to help it along. I would experiment with the solution and a couple spare stickers to get everything just right.
