Marzocchi Z.2- Help me keep it going!
I posted this in Mechanics and got "it's old, move on", so... I came back here.
I have a '98 Marzocchi Z.2 BAM, which I've heard described as a stiff fork with great tracking. It is a rim brake model. I have noticed though, that it washes out on downhill corners. I can stand in front of the bike, clamping the wheel between my knees, and twist the bars probably 10 degrees. The wheel doesn't appear to twist, only the fork. I am using a steel XT skewer. Does this just need its bolts torqued, new bushings, or maybe something else? Thanks.

You were the one who said move on, as in disposal (I said moved as in time), I also said be realistic about what you have.

I get that it's not going to be stiff like a thru-axle fork, but this is actually scary to turn in off-camber sections. I guess I was hoping someone would say something like "oh yeah just throw some new [part X] and it'll be good as new."

The problem come back to being an old fork, the Marzocchi you bought the fork from back in '98 no longer exists, in 2008 they were bought by Tenneco, and now all production is done in TW, getting spares for parts other than seals and possibly bushings will be problematic now.
