Miele Project

10 Attachment(s)
I thought I would share my new project as I enjoy following others projects on here. I recently got a good deal on a Miele bike. From what I can tell it looks to be a more top of the line Miele (correct me if im wrong) based on the campy drop outs, columbus tubing sticker, and detail on seat stays. I was a little disappointed as during shipment one of the cable guides broke. I will need to get this repaired. With this and some of the signs of rust I believe I am going to repaint and get some new decals made. I found a Miele catalog online but since the model sticker is hard to read I did not see any matches. My guess is Clio? Please enjoy the photos and if you have any information about the bike I would be more than happy to hear.

Club? I can't see why Miele would name a model after another brand.

Beautiful! That is a great color to pair with that beautiful Sante' group.

Thanks yeah that's true dident know Clio was a brand.

I just found this post (http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...out-there.html)and looks same as the purple one half way down page, its a Chic model.

I want to get the new paint a close to original color as I can. The full assembled bike pick was the sellers photo. I am cleaning up the Sante group and plan to put it back on with chrome seat post and find a chrome fork as the white one is not original.

OH just because it is baby blue and powder white it is a "Chic" bike? ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the brand name is Cilo rather than Clio..;) Here's mine for comparison.

Just received the bike back from frame builder with top tube cable guides repaired and took some sandpaper to some of the rust on BB.

Wow ! Great looking bike, love the extra width for wider tires these older frames have.

Bianchigirll 04-19-15 07:58 AM

Beautiful!! Great job. Can't wait to hear how she rides.

Been riding her to work for the past 3 weeks what a great ride. My only complaint was the seat, so i upgraded to a more comfortable one.

would anyone have a catalog page for this bike?
or know exact tubing, date, location of manufacture (since i have heard some were made in Italy)?

Check the width of the bottom bracket housing, face to face. If 70mm, then my guess is a top Italian bow-wow, a pretty nice bicycle, to say the least. I might add that the Campagnolo drops are another indicator of top of the line Miele, once again, suggesting Italian origin.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Doesn't the headtube say "made in Canada"? Perhaps I'm misreading it.
Nice bike.

Nice bike.

It does, but there are stories about these bikes being made in Italy too.

Mainly just hoping someone out there has the catalog page, if one exists.
