Help identify this Pinarello

3 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

I am new to Bike Forums, and I recently made a purchase off eBay on a 1974 pinarello track frame. The seller said that the frame was powder coated, which covered the two Pinarello engravings close to the seat tubes. The frame hasn't arrived yet, but I am having second thoughts on whether or not it's legit. I was wondering if you guys could help me because I can't seem to be able to cross reference it anywhere online.

Thanks a ton, I would greatly appreciate any help I could get. Here are the only pictures I have.

The fork is definitely a recent addition, making one wonder why it was changed (especially in conjunction with the powder coat).

I realized that the fork was not an original pinarello, but I thought that the frame would be worth it. It hasn't arrived yet for me to do a closer inspection which is why I would like to have a second opinion before hand from what is known.

It's hard to say from the photos...I don't know early Pinarello well, and even less about track bikes. My sense is that very few pre-80s Pinarellos made it over here, and they were low production before the late 70s (mostly supplying treviso). My mid-60s Pinarello has no markings, other than the Galmozzi fork crown.

I would look very carefully at the frame - especially the front end. The powdercoat combined with missing fork would give me pause.

I think I see what look like markings on the caps...but it's hard to tell in the photos. I think it's going to be hard to find comparison bikes...the guy on the forum most likely to know about this bike is citoyen du Monde.

Doesn't look like a Pinarello. But that's my gut feeling.

I know next to nothging about track bikes, but know a quality bike when I see one. I question the seat lug. Did they used that kin d of binder in the 60s and the 70s? That's one lay back seat tube or a track bike? The Bottom bracket lug is flat and has no point. Again, the pics need to be clearer, and I am not if that way how they made them? those would be my questions

I also know very little about track bikes but will be very surprised if someone can confirm this is a Pinarello, and you are wise to get it confirmed or more likely refuted.
