I DO have quads!

I restarted biking in July, '13 after a 10-year layoff and rode 200-300 miles in '13. Surgery kept me off my bike last year until July again, and I took a 2 week non-biking vacation in August, so again, no more than 300 miles. I started in May this year. Through the 26th, I had about 115 miles in. Throughout those 500-700 miles, I never became aware of stress on my quads.

Yesterday I felt both strong and weak - hard to understand but that's the best I can describe it. 18.45 miles, for at least a couple of which I felt definite burning in my quads. The pain came on upward inclines, which makes sense.

I'm 'training' for a long ride before the end of July - ideally 72 miles, but I'll be happy with 50 or 62. However far I go, though, I need fairly well-developed quads, so this is a big step forward, I think.

I'm happier about feeling my quads than I am about going 1/4 of my desired distance.
