Sold an old friend

I feel kind of like a traitor.

Someone had a thread earlier about whether we still had the bike that got us started again. I no longer do. Old faithful got sold to another Clyde who was just getting started riding again - sounds like the bike has a purpose.

So it's bittersweet - I miss that thing already, but there's something exciting about having moved beyond what that bike could do for me, you know? A few years ago a couple loops around a 2 mile park path (level) was cause for celebration. And now I'm selling a bike off because it no longer meets my needs.

Your friend will be happier being regularly used than gathering dust, be of good cheer!

+1. I once put an old, banged up MTB out back in the alley with the trash. It was being stored at my mom's house, which she was in the process of selling. I abused that thing for some 15 years and it rarely complained. The thing was gone within a few hours. I like to think that it got to experience more miles under a different owner, or that at least some of the parts were put to good use.

You need to get your friend (the person that bought the bike) posting in this group forum, so he can track his progress.
