Anything to look for as far as Wear on a 2007 LeMond Buenos Aires?
So I've been riding this since 2008, I float between 220 and 260. Currently at a lean 250, I carry a lot of it in my legs, always have. I don't know if this is an unanswerable question, I feel like I'm a fairly powerful rider and pound the crap out of this thing. Occasionally the thought comes into my mind will it snap, will the carbon fail one day? Should I upgrade my chain or components... most of the lower components are 105's. Is there something that is going to go first?
Pre-emptive maintenance or replacement? I'm thinking like a car...once you hit a certain mileage you replace your plugs since you don't want to wait for them to fail.
The LBS maintains it, and says it looks fine. I guess I am afraid one day it'll just snap on me...hopefully uphill but perhaps downhill.
I have the original Bontrager Race Lite wheels, and put Gatorskins on it due to a TON initial pinch flats.
Just trying to be pro-active...if not, maybe looking for an excuse to upgrade?

Are you saying you are still riding the original chain? Probably need new cassette and chainrings by now.

I'd do both shifter cables, $2-3 each for the mechanic special, not the pre packaged stuff you see on the floor.
I'd also replace bother inner tubes now rather than see if it holds air when 5miles down the road. Buy spares to put in your saddle bag as well.
I'd replace the Chain, KMC chains have been good to me and are under $30 for most speeds.
I'd replace the cassette with another 105 for $50
Shimano 105 CS-5700 10-Speed Cassette from BikeBling.com
if you think you need new crank chain rings, its often cheaper just to get a new set of cranks. But I'd ride what you have first until the itch or need comes up.
I'd re torque for sanity
>Cranks
>Stem to fork
>Handlebars to stem
>Seatpost clamp.
Unless you see cracks or flat spots in the tires, they should still be good to go.
If you get a TON of pinch flats, it might likely be the rim tape not catching the spokes as it hits the tube when those light rim deforms.
Stans universal yellow tape is you answer and cheap. Cheaper than 2 tubes. but can save a dozen of headaches + cash
No Tubes Universal Tape from Bike Bling
